Emergency Urology

Emergency urology is a specialized branch of urology that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of acute urologic conditions that require urgent medical attention. These conditions can include kidney stones, urinary tract infections, testicular torsion, priapism (a painful and persistent erection), bladder outlet obstruction, and urologic trauma, among others. Emergency urologists are trained to provide timely and appropriate management of these conditions, which may require surgical or non-surgical interventions, such as catheterization, stenting, or surgery. Emergency urology aims to minimize the morbidity and mortality associated with acute urologic conditions and improve patient outcomes.
